Thailand's Tourism Minister, Mr. Weerasak Kowsurat, recently welcomed the Indian International Film Academy to Thailand when they held their annual Award Presentation Ceremony (the 'Bollywood Oscars'!) at Siam Niramit Theatre in Bangkok. Siam Niramit
CEO, Khun Pannin Kitiparaporn, stated that "IIFA realized Siam Niramit was
their ideal venue partner after falling in love with the Siam Niramit show. They
recognized that the theatre had both the scale and the infrastructure to allow
them to stage their grand event." Sections of the Siam Niramit show, which
uses state-of-the-art stage technology to present 'A Journey to the Enchanted
Kingdom of Siam', were integrated into the entertainment at the awards ceremony,
together with lots of modern Bollywood dancing and song. A special reception, held before the awards ceremony, was attended by many Thai government officials and prominent Indian businessmen.
